To open admin panel click the settings icons and click login.
You can set your Netkiosk Admin password or pin in Netkiosk Admin Panel.

How does Netkiosk DTL Work.

The “How does Netkiosk Work” applies to all Netkiosk Versions.
All Lockdown features are built-in inside Netkiosk.
This removes the need for, often complex, group policy configuration.
Some Windows versions do not have the option to set group policies.
When you start Netkiosk the PC is instantly Locked down into secure kiosk mode.
When YOU as admin close Netkiosk via the secure Admin Panel the PC is instantly unlocked.

Netkiosk Browser Configuration. Quick Guide.
You can start Netkiosk secure Browser on startup of Netkiosk.
You can select normal, full screen tabbed browser or full screen info kiosk mode.
In full screen browser mode users have no access to programs.

In the Trial version simply click the login button to enter Netkiosk Admin Panel.

You can set your Netkiosk Admin password in Netkiosk Admin Panel.
For Windows 7/8/10 extra options such as disabling “Ease of Access” please go to the bottom of this page.

Netkiosk Desktop Lock now has Netkiosk Standard (Kiosk Browser) fully integrated.
Our latest version of Netkiosk Desktop Lock has Netkiosk Standard built-in.
You simply configure Netkiosk to suit your needs and requirements, with the peace mind of being able to switch start options at any time in case your user requirements change. Netkiosk Standard Kiosk Browser is identical to the Standalone version of Netkiosk Standard, with the only difference that you can now configure and start Netkiosk Standard directly from within Netkiosk Desktop Lock.

Each Tab in Netkiosk Desktop Lock Admin Panel has a help section to assist you with the configuration, as well as a separate Help tab.
Netkiosk Kiosk Browser has its own Admin Panel, which is virtually identical to Netkiosk Standard (Standalone version.)

  1. Run Netkiosk Desktop Lock and give access to Programs or Netkiosk Standard Browser.
  2. Start Netkiosk Standard in full screen tabbed browser or info kiosk mode.
  3. Simply configure the Start options directly inside Netkiosk Desktop Lock Admin Panel. (in the Netkiosk Browser Tab)
  4. Netkiosk will start with the option you have selected in the Netkiosk Browser Tab.

To Protect access to Admin Panel you set your admin username and password or admin Pin. You can hide the Admin icons and use the keyboard short cut to open Admin Panel.
For reference the Admin Tab also shows the location of the settings file.

The Security Tab
You can hide or show the Ctrl+Alt+Del Start Menu icons via the Enable or Disable Ctrl/Alt/Del Buttons.
Windows Task manager is automatically disabled while Netkiosk runs.
Netkiosk Auto Start.
You can enable or disable Netkiosk Auto Start. If Enabled Netkiosk will automatically start After the user logs in.
Shell Mode.
When Netkiosk Shell mode is enabled Netkiosk is the very first program that starts immediately after the user logs in.
Netkiosk Watcher.
Netkiosk watcher monitors Netkiosk Desktop Lock, and in case of an unexpected crash will automatically restart Netkiosk.

The Theme Tab
Here you can change the default background image to your own.
You can also change the Netkiosk Desktop background color.

The User Access Tab
Here you can block access to IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Opera.
You can also hide the Netkiosk icons.
You can block access to USB ports and CD Drives.

Configure folder Access.
This gives you to option to restrict folder access to one specific folder.
Configuration is slightly different for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 10.

Windows 7 and earlier Windows versions.
This gives access to a preset folder. Local or Network
Note: Pre-set folder access only works properly on Windows 7 and earlier Windows versions.

Windows 8 and 10 and blocking folder access.
In Windows 8 and 10 when a user clicks the Folder Browse icon Windows explorer opens. If you are not using group policy or other security settings you can block folder access using the Program Menus Tab.

1) Open Netkiosk Admin Panel.
2) Go to the Program Menus Tab. and tick no 1. (Block Access etc…..)
3) Open Windows Explorer. (Do not close Admin Panel)
4) When you click on folder, (For instance C:\ ) in Windows Explorer the text appears in the yellow text box. You can then add the folder you want to block to the Program Menus
5) When a user clicks on a blocked folder Windows Explorer will simply close.

The Programs Tab
This is one of the main Tab pages where you set which programs users can access.
You can allow up to 5 Programs that the user can access via the Netkiosk Desktop and Netkiosk Taskbar Program icons. These programs are automatically added to the Allowed Programs Tab.You can show or hide any of the icons.

The Allowed Programs Tab
Here you can see which programs are running.
You can add or remove any programs from the Allowed Programs List.
When you tick “Block all programs except my allowed Programs” Only the Programs that are added to the Allowed Programs list will be allowed.
When a user tries to open a Program that is not in the Allowed Programs List the program will simply blocked. (i.e the user can not open the Program).
Note: Programs are only blocked when Netkiosk Runs.
Netkiosk uses a special process monitor to check which programs are allowed.

The Program Menus Tab
This is optional and gives you extra power and control over what you want your users to access. The Netkiosk Program Menu monitor allows you to block any Windows or External Program Menu. This might be useful if you want to stop users opening external program menus.
How to block program or Windows menus
1) Open Netkiosk Admin Panel.
2) Go to the Program Menus Tab. and tick no 1. (Block Access etc…..)
3) Open the program or windows menu that you want to block. (Do not close Admin Panel)
4) When you open the program menu folder the text appears in the yellow text box. You can then add the program or Windows menu you want to block to the Program Menus
5) When a user clicks on a blocked program or Windows menu, either the menu or the program will simply close. A user can then restart the program.Click the screenshot below to see the sample of the Google Chrome menus we added to the blocked list.

The Netkiosk Browser Tab
Number 2 or the main Netkiosk Tabs.
Here you can set how you want to start Netkiosk Standard Secure Browser.
Netkiosk Standard has its own built-in Admin Panel which is virtually identical to the Stand-alone Netkiosk Standard Versions.
If you do not want to give access to Programs you can simply start Netkiosk Standard Browser in full screen Tabbed or information kiosk mode.
You can Auto Start Netkiosk Standard Browser when Netkiosk DTL starts.
You can instantly test this by clicking on the Netkiosk Browser (N) icon in the taskbar.


NetkioskBrowserAdminBrowserOptions

Netkiosk Standard Normal mode.
Users can minimize, maximize and close the secure Netkiosk Standard Browser.
This is useful if you also want to give access to Programs.

NetkioskDTL+Browser

Netkiosk Standard full screen Tabbed Browser Mode.
Users cannot close Netkiosk Standard Browser. Users have no access to programs.

Netkiosk Standard full screen info kiosk Mode.
Users cannot close Netkiosk Standard Browser.  Users have no access to programs.
Ideal for information display kiosks.

NETKIOSK OR WINDOWS OSK

You can use the custom Netkiosk OSK or the Windows OSK
(The Windows OSK is recommended only in Windows 8 and 10)

If in Windows 10 the Windows Tabtip OSK does NOT show.
1) Right click in the bottom right corner of your Windows Taskbar. (on the up arrow)
2) In the pop-up screen tick. “Show touch keyboard button.”
3) The OSK icon should show in the system Tray.
4) You can now use the windows Tabtip OSK in Netkiosk (OSK Tab)
